Middlesbrough Mystery: Woman Vanishes, Murder Suspected but No Body Found
Natalie Jenkins, 32, disappeared without trace in December 2019. Six years on, police are convinced she was murdered, yet her body remains missing. Now, her heartbroken mother is making a fresh plea for answers to finally bring closure.
Last Sighting: Natalie Walks Into Albert Park
- On the night of Tuesday, December 10, 2019, CCTV captured Natalie heading towards Albert Park, Middlesbrough, just before 11:40pm. She stood out in a distinctive white hat.
- Officers believe she stayed in the park area into the early hours of December 11.
- By January 2020, Cleveland Police declared the disappearance a suspected murder case, even though no body has ever been found.
Massive Hunt Comes Up Empty
- Police combed waterways and nearby areas, chasing 115 possible sightings and reviewing 130 CCTV clips.
- They took over 1,200 witness statements and seized 1,500 pieces of evidence.
- Several arrests were made, including two men on suspicion of murder, plus others for obstructing justice and preventing lawful burial. All were later released without charge.
- In June 2021, after thousands of leads, detectives shifted from active searching to monitoring, but the investigation remains open – and unsolved.
Family’s Heartbreaking Plea for Justice
Natalie, from Eston and last living in Thornaby, is described as slim, around 5ft 5in, with fair skin, straight brown hair, hazel eyes, and a missing front tooth. She had tattoos including “SWANNY” on her neck and “SWANN” on her wrist.
“It’s an everyday thing – I get on and do what I have to but she never leaves my mind and that’s very hard. All I want is to bring her peace.” – Sylvia Jenkins, Natalie’s mum
Both Sylvia and Chris Jenkins have repeatedly urged anyone with information about Natalie’s disappearance to come forward.
