Body Found on Lancing Beach Sparks Emergency Response
Emergency crews rushed to Lancing Beach after a shocking discovery. Just after 2:30pm, a passerby spotted a body on the seafront and dialled 999 immediately.
Coastguard Helicopter and Lifeboat Join Search
HM Coastguard scrambled a helicopter, while the Shoreham lifeboat team launched a joint land and sea search of the area. Police and ambulance services also responded swiftly to the scene.
Sussex Police Confirm Investigation Underway
“Police were called to Lancing Beach around 2:35pm on Friday, March 29, after a body was discovered by a member of the public. Officers are currently at the scene, and we are in the preliminary stages of our investigation. At this point, no additional information can be released,” a Sussex Police spokesperson said.
HM Coastguard confirmed they were alerted shortly after 2:50pm and highlighted the coordinated emergency effort still ongoing.
For now, authorities have no further details to share as investigations continue.
