Warning: Potentially Deadly Caffeine Levels Found in Popular Protein Powder

Danger in 1.5kg Sci-Mx Ultra Muscle Strawberry Bags

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a major health alert over 1.5 kg bags of Sci-Mx Nutrition Ultra Muscle Strawberry Flavour powder with a best-before date of March 2025.

Caffeine Overload Could Kill

Tests revealed a staggering 5g of caffeine in a single serving — twice the recommended limit. The pack suggests consuming two servings a day, forcing intake to 10g of caffeine, a dose that could be fatal for most people.

Even 3g of caffeine can kill those sensitive to it.

FSA Sounds the Alarm

Tina Potter, Head of Incidents at the FSA, warns: “High caffeine levels can cause anxiety, insomnia, palpitations, agitation, diarrhoea and restlessness. People with mental health conditions risk worsened psychosis. At these levels, the effects could be deadly.”
