McDonald Takes the Helm as SNP’s New Treasurer
The SNP has named McDonald as its new treasurer after the party’s National Executive Committee handpicked him. He’ll hold the role until the next annual conference.
Until now, SNP leader Humza Yousaf was temporarily covering the position.

Operation Branchform, the ongoing police investigation into the SNP’s finances, kicked off in July 2021. It followed complaints over suspicious handling of party donations.
Peter Murrell, the former SNP chief executive, was arrested earlier this month amid the probe but was released without any charges.
