Wingboarder in Trouble Off Orcombe Point

Exmouth’s brave RNLI volunteers sprang into action early this afternoon to help a wing boarder struggling off Orcombe Point. The daring rescue kicked off at 1.44pm on Saturday, April 8, 2023.

Injured Man Found at Langstone Rocks

Later, at 4.12pm, the same lifeboat crew located a man injured with ankle wounds after falling from Langstone Rocks. The volunteer crew, aboard lifeboat 13-03 R & J Welburn, including Roger Jackson, Steve Hockings-Thompson, Ed Thomas, Geoff Mills, and Mark Sansom, teamed up with a HART paramedic to provide emergency aid.

Swift Evacuation to Hospital

The casualty was carefully brought aboard the lifeboat and transported to Dawlish Warren slipway. There, an ambulance was waiting to rush the man to hospital for further treatment.

At 4.40pm, the Lifeboat crew were stood down and back on station by 5pm, ready for the next call to action.
