Knife-Wielding Shop Robber Strikes at Store 4 U
A man armed with a knife stormed into Store 4 U on New Chester Road at around 4.20pm on March 7, 2023. He threatened the shop assistant and demanded cash from the till before fleeing towards Hassall Road with the stolen money.
Victim Left Shaken but Unharmed
Thankfully, no injuries were reported, but the shop worker was left deeply distressed by the terrifying ordeal. Police say the victim was simply trying to earn an honest living when they were targeted.
Police Search for Suspect and Appeal for Witnesses
Detectives have reviewed extensive CCTV footage and have released images of a man believed to be connected with the robbery. Detective Inspector Dave Sung said:
“This was a frightening experience for the victim who was left in a state of shock and thankfully wasn’t injured. We are determined to catch the suspect responsible to prevent them targeting anyone else. Theft from a business is not a victimless crime – it affects communities and local residents who rely on small shops.”
He added a call to the public:
“If you were in the area around 4pm and have dashcam footage, or saw anyone acting suspiciously, please get in touch. We urge anyone who recognises the man pictured to come forward. Even the smallest piece of information could be crucial in bringing those responsible to justice.”
