Leah Croucher Murder Probe Presses On
Police are still hunting for answers in the Leah Croucher murder case. A specialised team led by Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown is working round the clock on this complex investigation. Leah’s body was found at a property on Loxbeare Drive, Furzton, Milton Keynes, in October 2022.
Thousands of Leads Chased, But No Breakthrough Yet
Officers have launched over 2,000 lines of inquiry. They’ve conducted in-depth forensic searches, examined CCTV footage, taken hundreds of statements, and carried out widespread house-to-house enquiries in the local area.
Suspect Neil Maxwell Still on Police Radar
Detective Chief Superintendent Ian Hunter confirmed Neil Maxwell remains the only suspect. Maxwell was named publicly last October, with police releasing his last known photograph.
Despite extensive media coverage and fresh inquiries, no one has seen Maxwell in Milton Keynes since December 2018. Crucially, no witness has placed him around Loxbeare Drive near the time Leah disappeared in January 2019.
“Our investigation continues to gather the evidence needed to get to the truth,” said DCS Hunter.
Maxwell was wanted over a sexual assault in Newport Pagnell in November 2018. He reportedly used fake names and abandoned his phone and vehicles to avoid arrest. Police believe he changed his appearance—growing a beard and gaining weight.
To jog memories, police have created an updated computer image of Maxwell from around Leah’s disappearance. They are asking:
- Did you see this man near Loxbeare Drive, Furzton between Dec 2018 and April 2019?
- Can you share info about Maxwell’s whereabouts, phone number, vehicle, or companions during that time?
