Nottingham Man Nabbed After Woman Attacked and Phone Stolen
Police swooped on a 56-year-old man in Netherfield after a woman was reportedly assaulted and her phone snatched late on Monday night, December 19.
Suspect Caught Red-Handed
Officers arrived at the scene around 11:25pm and stopped the man as he was leaving the property carrying a bag. Their swift action led to the man’s immediate arrest on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and theft of a mobile phone.
Stolen Goods Busted in Multiple Searches
Following the arrest, police searched two Netherfield homes and a van linked to the suspect. They uncovered a haul of bin bags stuffed with items believed to be stolen from local shops.
Police Praise Quick Response and Thorough Investigation
Sergeant Mark Hore of Nottinghamshire Police said: “We respond quickly to all reports of violence and officers rapidly arrested a suspect when they were called to the scene of this incident.
“It was then a really good piece of police work to carry out detailed searches of two addresses and a vehicle belonging to the suspect.
“A large quantity of items which we believe to have been stolen were recovered and our investigation will continue into the incident.”
Police enquiries are ongoing as they piece together the full extent of the crime spree.
