Cop Caught: PC Swaleh Chaudhry Arrested Over Shocking Sex Crimes
Policeman Nabbed at Scene and Suspended Immediately
Police swooped on PC Swaleh Chaudhry, 36, just before 5pm on Wednesday, 30 March. The Met Taskforce officer was arrested on the spot and promptly suspended from duty.
Guilty Plea to Voyeurism and Child Porn Charges
At Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on 1 April, Chaudhry pleaded guilty to a string of serious offences:
- One count of voyeurism
- One count of possession of extreme pornography
- Three counts of making indecent images of a child
Met Commander Slams ‘Reprehensible’ Conduct
Commander Kyle Gordon, head of the Met’s Taskforce, condemned Chaudhry’s actions as “shocking” and said they go against everything the police force stands for. He promised swift justice and vowed to root out bad cops.
“Within 48 hours of uncovering these crimes we launched a fast, thorough investigation. Chaudhry has been charged and appeared in court without delay,” Gordon said. “We are determined to rebuild public trust and confidence by acting decisively against wrongdoing within our ranks.”
Investigation Uncovers Disturbing Evidence
Chaudy was off duty during the incident. Officers seized his electronic devices and found extreme porn and indecent images of children. The case has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
Next Steps: Crown Court and Misconduct Proceedings
PC Chaudhry will face sentencing at Kingston Crown Court on a date yet to be confirmed. Misconduct hearings will follow swiftly.
