A 59-year-old man has been slapped with a 20-month prison sentence at Edinburgh Sheriff Court. He has also been added to the Sex Offenders Register, marking his crimes officially on record.

Detective Inspector I. Ure from Police Scotland’s National Child Abuse Investigation Unit blasted the pervert’s actions. “Reid’s online behaviour was reprehensible with no regard to the young victims depicted in the images he was viewing,” the officer said.

“He believed that the internet would provide anonymity and allow him to undertake his offending undetected. This was not the case,” Ure added. “As a result of our enquiries, he will now face the consequences of his actions.”
