Missing Six-Year-Old Boy Found Wandering Roadworks on the M1 After 8-Hour Search
Heat-Seeking Helicopter Spots Child in Dangerous Roadworks
An eight-hour police search ended in relief early Saturday as a six-year-old boy was found wandering through roadworks on the M1 near Newport Pagnell. A police helicopter using a heat-seeking camera spotted the boy half a mile from the motorway service station at 3:20am.
The young boy, Aadil Umair Rahim, was located sitting alone within the coned-off area of the roadworks, dressed only in a jumper. Officers and search teams quickly reached him and wrapped him in a foil blanket before taking him to safety.
Child Wandered Off From School Trip at Newport Pagnell Services
Aadil went missing around 7:15pm on Friday after wandering away from the northbound Newport Pagnell service area during a school trip. His concerned parents, who had rushed from their Nottingham home, were reunited with him at the scene.
Despite the high-risk nature of a young child going missing, questions remain over why a public appeal wasn’t made earlier. Police declined to comment on whether any offences were suspected.

Superintendent Amy Clements said: “The boy has been checked over by paramedics and is now being taken for further medical checks.”
