Eight Hurt After Car Flips Onto Roof in Colwell Crash
Fire crews rushed to a dramatic rollover crash in Colwell, Isle of Wight, early Monday morning. A car flipped onto its roof, leaving eight people injured.
Emergency Response Swift and Heroic
Two fire crews from Newport and a third retained crew from Freshwater arrived at the junction of Norton Green and Colwell Road just after 2:30am. Using cutting equipment, firefighters freed trapped passengers and made the scene safe.
Eight Treated, One Rushed to Hospital
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service treated all eight victims at the scene. One seriously hurt person was stabilised and taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport. The others received treatment on-site and didn’t require hospital admission.
Police Oversee Vehicle Recovery
Police and contractors later recovered the overturned vehicle, clearing the crash site and investigating the incident.
