Firefighters battle major blaze in Gravesend

Seven Fire Engines Tackle Nursery Grove Inferno

Emergency crews have rushed to a serious fire on Nursery Grove in Gravesend. Seven fire engines and a height vehicle are battling the blaze after the call came in earlier this afternoon.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) confirmed crews wearing breathing apparatus are using main jets to contain the flames. The height vehicle is helping firefighters reach the upper floors.

A KFRS spokesperson said:

“Seven fire engines and one height vehicle are currently at the scene. Our crews are working hard to contain the fire, and all occupants have been accounted for.”

Kent Police Manage Safety and Access

Kent Police are on site assisting with road closures and public safety. They are helping coordinate emergency efforts as firefighters continue to tackle the fire.

Cause Unknown, Residents Warned

So far, the cause of the blaze remains unclear. The extent of damage to the building is still being assessed. Nearby residents have been advised to keep windows and doors shut due to smoke.

The public is urged to avoid Nursery Grove until the incident is fully under control and emergency teams have cleared the area.
