Stabbing Shakes Eastbourne Bus
A 13-year-old boy was arrested after a brazen stabbing on a number 1 bus in Eastbourne, East Sussex. The attack happened near the Co-op store on Cornfield Road at around 7:40 pm on Saturday, April 5.
Sussex Police revealed the victim, also a teenager, was attacked by a group of boys while travelling on the bus. He sustained a stab wound and was rushed to hospital, but thankfully his injuries were not life-threatening. He has since been discharged.
Arrest Made – Bail Set Pending Enquiries
The 13-year-old suspect was taken into custody shortly after on suspicion of attempted robbery and causing grievous bodily harm (GBH). He’s now been bailed as investigations continue.
Police Launch Urgent Witness Appeal
Detectives are calling on the public to come forward with any information. They’re warning against speculation online, stressing this could harm the ongoing investigation.
“Police are conducting increased patrols in the town centre to provide reassurance. Officers are aware of social media comments about this incident and ask the public not to speculate online,” a Sussex Police spokesperson said.

Following the stabbing, Sussex Police have ramped up patrols across Eastbourne town centre to boost safety and reassure residents.

Local residents are rattled by the brazen attack on a public bus. One parent told social media: “It’s scary to think something like this could happen on a bus in our town. I hope the boy is okay.”
