A driver has been charged with dangerous driving after a thrilling police chase through Greenwich that ended with a car smashing into a house.

The dramatic pursuit unfolded on Tuesday, July 16, around 1:30 pm, involving the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) pursuing a vehicle linked to criminal activity.
The chase sped through the neighbourhoods of Charlton, Woolwich, and Eltham, before reaching a terrifying climax on Cranbrook Road.
Crash Into House—Miracle No One Hurt
The driver lost control and crashed into a residential property. Thankfully, no one inside the house was injured.
“It was like something out of a movie. The car came speeding down the road, and then there was a loud crash. We’re just thankful no one was hurt,” a local witness said.
Suspect Caught and Charged
The suspect was arrested on the scene and now faces dangerous driving charges and possible other offences linked to the chase.
The Greenwich MPS Proactive Team confirmed on social media: “On 16/7/2024 at 1:30 pm, our team pursued a vehicle involved in crime through Charlton, Woolwich, and Eltham. The driver crashed into a house on Cranbrook Road. The driver was arrested and charged with dangerous driving.”
