Police Visit Sparks Careers Interest at Delce Academy
On Friday 5 July 2024, Medway’s Community Safety Unit rolled into Delce Academy in Rochester to inspire Year Five pupils.

PC Isuru Ranaweera and Police Community Support Officer Rowan Cornwall chatted with 11 and 12-year-olds about police roles, how to join the force, and becoming a Police Cadet. They gave the kids a rare look inside a police van, making the visit hands-on and exciting.
Serious Talk on Crime and Consequences
The officers also discussed different types of crime and the importance of knowing the consequences, aiming to educate while engaging young minds.
“The students really enjoyed meeting us and we felt like we were able to give them lots of useful advice. They were full of questions and curiosity, and it was a really beneficial event which I’m pleased we were able to attend,” said PC Ranaweera.
