Blaze Breaks Out at Holborn Office Building
A fire erupted early this morning, July 17, at an office building in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, Holborn. The London Fire Brigade sprang into action quickly, sending four fire engines and around 25 firefighters after the emergency call came in at 6:15 AM. By 7:50 AM, the blaze was under control.
Storage Room Damaged but No Injuries
The fire caused significant damage to half of a storage room on the fourth floor of the five-storey office block. Luckily, no injuries were reported. Around 20 people had already evacuated the building before firefighters arrived on the scene.
Firefighters from Soho, Euston, and Dowgate stations worked swiftly to contain the flames and stop the fire spreading further.
Safety Cordon in Place as Fire Investigated
Photos from the scene show a strong London Fire Brigade presence, with vehicles and crews lined up outside the building. A safety cordon marked “hazard zone, do not cross” is in place to keep the public safe and help emergency teams operate efficiently.
The cause of the fire remains unknown and is now under investigation. A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said:
“Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled an office fire on Lincoln’s Inn Fields in Holborn. Half of a storage room on the fourth floor of the five-storey building was damaged. No injuries have been reported. The Brigade was called at 6:15 AM and the fire was under control by 7:50 AM. Crews from Soho, Euston, and Dowgate fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
Area Remains Cordoned Off
