Knife Scare Shakes Gravesend Pub on Euros Final Night
A 22-year-old man was arrested after a terrifying knife incident at the George Public House in Gravesend during the Euros final on Sunday, July 14.
Suspect Attempts Knife Attack in Packed Pub
Police say the suspect entered the busy pub on Hever Court Road around 7:18 PM and approached a man he knew. He tried to assault the victim with a knife, but thankfully, no one was hurt.
The attacker then fled, leaving the weapon behind. Police later seized the knife as evidence.
Getaway in Black Audi A3 SE TDI
Witnesses reported the suspect escaping in a black Audi A3 SE TDI. He was spotted sitting in the passenger seat as the car left the Premier Inn car park near the pub.
Man Bailed Amid Ongoing Investigation
Officers caught the suspect at around 10 PM that night on suspicion of affray. He has been bailed until Sunday, October 13, while inquiries continue.
“The pub was packed with fans gearing up to watch the Euros final,” said PC Izzy Deane. “This must have been a frightening ordeal for everyone there. We urge anyone with information to come forward – even small details can be crucial.”
