Teen Cops Chase Ends in Officer Assault and Arrests
Two teenagers have been caught following a dramatic police chase in Burgess Hill that saw an officer kicked in the face.
High-Speed Hunt for Stolen Bikes
On Monday morning (March 4), just before 11am, police – backed by the National Police Air Service (NPAS) – launched after two suspects spotted stealing motorbikes on Junction Road. The chase ended on Eastdale Road when cops caught up with the stolen bikes.
Officer Hospitalised After Attack
During the tussle, an officer was kicked in the face and had to be hospitalised. Thankfully, he has since been discharged.
Two Teens Charged and on Bail
- A 16-year-old from Horsham faces charges including vehicle theft, dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving without a licence.
- A 17-year-old from Burgess Hill is charged with criminal damage, assaulting police, failing to stop, and refusing roadside tests.
Both have been released on conditional bail while investigations continue.
