Fatal Crash Shocks Wood Green: Pensioner Woman Dies After Zebra Crossing Collision
Police urgently seek witnesses and dashcam footage following a tragic crash in Wood Green that claimed the life of an 83-year-old woman.
Collision at Zebra Crossing Leaves Elderly Woman Dead
A man and woman, both in their 80s, were struck by a car while crossing a zebra crossing on Bury Road, near Lymington Avenue, Wood Green. The incident happened on Tuesday, 7 November 2023 at around 11:15am.
Both victims were rushed to hospital. The man was treated and discharged, but sadly the woman later died from her injuries.
Victim identified as 83-year-old Grigoria Yiannoullou from the Wood Green area.
Investigation Underway – Police Appeal for Help
Detective Sergeant Rebecca Collens of the Met Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:
“This incident happened on a zebra crossing on Bury Road, close to the junction of Lymington Avenue in Wood Green. If you were in the area and witnessed the incident, or if you were a driver who may have captured events on dashcam footage, then please get in contact if you have yet to do so.”
The car driver stopped at the scene and has been interviewed under caution but has not been arrested.
