Brutal Robbery on Market Street Ends in Triple Jail Sentences
A man in his 50s was lured into a flat on Market Street on 11 June 2022 with the promise of being repaid owed money. What followed was a savage assault by three offenders who left him with serious facial injuries.
Violent Attack and Theft
Shortly after the victim arrived, Paul Cook, 41, his sister Dorothy Cook, 46, and Laura Bond, 45, launched a brutal and sustained attack. They stole his wallet and mobile phone before leaving him battered.
Despite the ordeal, the victim managed to escape the flat. He was helped by passersby and an off-duty nurse until police arrived.
Swift Justice at Stafford Crown Court
Local officers quickly arrested the trio and recovered the stolen items in a flat search. They appeared at Stafford Crown Court on 30 October, facing serious charges.
- Paul Cook was handed 3 years and 6 months for robbery.
- Dorothy Cook also received 3 years and 6 months for robbery.
- Laura Bond pleaded guilty and was jailed for 3 years and 4 months.
