Tragic Loss of Jessica Baker, 15, in M53 Crash
The family of Jessica Baker, the 15-year-old killed in a shocking M53 crash near Wirral, have paid a heartfelt tribute. Jessica died after a bus collided with a reservation near Junction 5, causing it to overturn.
Jessica: A Star Climber and Beloved Daughter
Jessica’s family described her as a warm-hearted and wonderful daughter, granddaughter, and niece. She was a devoted sister, loyal friend, and a rising star in the climbing world.
- Jessica was part of the Boardroom Climbing Centre Academy.
- She coached younger climbers and competed nationally.
- Starting Year 11 at West Kirby Grammar School, she excelled both in studies and school sports.
The family said Jessica’s sudden death has left a huge void and honoured her impact on school life and the climbing community nationwide.
School Mourns ‘Kind and Empathetic’ Student
West Kirby Grammar School’s headteacher, Mr Simeon Clarke, voiced his sadness. He called Jessica kind, polite, and unassuming, praising her dedication as a friend and student.
“Jessica represented Wales in national climbing competitions. She was utterly committed and an inspiration to many,” said Mr Clarke.
The school is working closely with Jessica’s family to properly celebrate her life and support students and staff coming to terms with the tragedy.
