BMW driver slammed with 27 weeks behind bars for endless offences
Darren Prouten, 40, was hauled in by cops in Newport after being caught driving a BMW without insurance and while disqualified on the evening of 6 March.
Multiple driving offences catch up with Prouten
Prouten wasn’t just stopped once. Officers tied him to another offence dating back to 21 February on Brading Road, Ryde, where he was also driving uninsured and disqualified.
Theft and shoplifting spree uncovered
The 40-year-old, who has no fixed home address, faced more charges beyond driving.

- Three counts of shoplifting between 29 March and 23 April 2022
Justice served with jail time and hefty driving ban
Prouten pleaded guilty to all charges. Newport Magistrates sentenced him to 27 weeks in jail on 15 April. He must also pay £199 compensation and has had his driving ban extended by 903 days.
