Horrific Homophobic Knife Attack Outside Clapham Nightclub
Detectives are hunting a dangerous knifeman after two men were viciously attacked outside the Two Brewers in Clapham. The assault happened late on Sunday, 13 August, at around 10.15pm. The victims, aged in their 20s and 30s, were standing outside the nightclub when the attacker struck.
Thankfully, both men received hospital treatment and have since been released. But the police are desperate to track down the culprit.
Police Release Chilling New Images of Suspect
To crack the case, officers have revealed new images of the man they want to question. CCTV caught him on a Route 50 bus in Thornton Heath at about 8.30pm the same evening.
“These images give a clearer picture of the person we need to identify,” said Detective Chief Inspector Jivan Saivb of Lambeth police. “Do you know this man? Recognise his clothes? Please come forward and help us catch him.”
Patrols Ramped Up as Police Chase Leads
Leads from the public and witnesses are being aggressively pursued. Police have increased patrols across Clapham High Street and will keep the pressure on in the coming days.
PC Hayley Jones, the LGBT+ Community Liaison Officer for Lambeth and Southwark, urged those hesitant to speak with police not to be afraid. She said,
“I’m here as a safe, supportive contact, especially for cases involving homophobia or transphobia. You can contact me directly for advice or to help with the investigation.”
