Ex-Legion Chief Vanishes Amid Theft Probe
John Pullen, once leader of Liverpool’s Royal British Legion branch, has disappeared after being accused of stealing charity cash.
Missing Money and Missing Man
Pullen resigned in February 2019 as Poppy Appeal Officer, claiming other commitments. Just a week later, officials noticed collection tins had gone missing. Since then, attempts to trace him have failed.
Private Prosecution Launched Over Fraud
The Legion has launched a private prosecution against Pullen for theft of cash between January 2017 and June 2019 and fraud by abuse of trust.
Former Landlord Speaks Out
A Legion official visited Pullen’s last known home on Jacksmere Lane, Scarisbrick. His former landlord described the property as left in a poor state, with Pullen owing £10,000 in rent. He has not been seen since.
