Three Men Arrested in Major Child Sex Abuse Probe in Manchester
Police Crack Down on Historical Abuse
Detectives from Greater Manchester Police’s Child Sexual Exploitation Unit launched a series of simultaneous raids this morning in Oldham and Manchester. The moves come after a lengthy investigation into horrific historical child sex abuse.
Men Held Over Early 2000s Abuse Allegations
Three men, aged 64, 61, and 47, were arrested on suspicion of sexual offences involving a female child victim in the early 2000s. The suspects remain in custody as inquiries continue.
Police Vow Justice for Victims
Detective Inspector Eleanor Humphreys, leading the Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, said:
“Our investigations focus firmly on the victims of these awful offences. We take every report seriously, and our specially trained team handles cases with sensitivity and care.”
She added: “We are committed to improving how we tackle historic abuse by carrying out thorough, in-depth investigations. Today’s arrests in Oldham and Manchester show we are making real progress in bringing offenders to justice.”
