Man Shot Dead in Lozells – Police Hunt Gunmen
Fatal Shooting Rocks Birmingham Neighbourhood
A man was shot dead in Lozells this evening at around 6.30pm. Despite immediate first aid, he died at the scene. His identity has not yet been confirmed.
Witnesses See Fleeing Gunmen
Four to five suspects were spotted running on foot down Villa Street after the shooting. Police swiftly arrested two men nearby, who are currently being held.
Police Launch Intensive Manhunt
Officers flooded the area with house-to-house enquiries and witness interviews. Detective Inspector Laura Harrison said:
“We understand residents’ concerns about recent gun incidents. Patrols have been stepped up to keep the city safe.”
She added: “It is too early to link this to other crimes, but our message is clear—we will not tolerate violence on our streets.”
