Teens Brawl Sparks Chaos at Coatbridge Leisure Park
Police are hunting for witnesses after a mass brawl erupted at the bustling Showcase Leisure Park in Coatbridge.
Teen Girl Seriously Hurt in Friday Night Fight
At around 8.25pm on Friday, 25 March, cops were called to reports of two groups of teenagers clashing. A 14-year-old girl suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for treatment. Another 13-year-old girl was also assaulted during the fracas.
Detective Urges Public to Come Forward with Info
Detective Constable Shemain Murphy of Lanarkshire CID said: “We are treating the attack on the 14-year-old as a serious assault and investigating the assault of the 13-year-old. I have no doubt others were hurt during this disturbance and urge anyone with information to come forward.”
“This incident took place in a busy area where people were trying to enjoy their evening. The large group of youths caused a disturbance that was particularly intimidating to young children and families.”
“Given the crowded setting, people may have captured photos or videos on their phones, or dash-cam footage from the car park might exist.”
