Cold Case Shock: Darren’s Murder Still Unsolved After 20 Years

On the night of Tuesday, 27 August 2002, 22-year-old Darren was caught up in a violent row on Burnmouth Road. The confrontation spilled into the street, turning deadly.

Just after 1.30am on Wednesday, 28 August, Darren was found badly injured, lying in the road on Calvary Place. Despite being rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, he tragically died shortly after.

Police Plea: Help Crack Darren’s Murder

Detective Inspector Lynsey Watters vowed, “No case is ever closed in Scotland. We’re determined to catch whoever is behind Darren’s murder and deliver justice.”

She added, “Darren was a much-loved son and brother, deeply missed by his family. We know he was chased from Edinburgh Road towards Burnett Road just before the attack. Someone must have seen or heard something.”

Detective Watters urged witnesses to come forward, stressing, “Fear or misplaced loyalty may be holding people back, but please do the right thing. Your information will be treated with absolute confidence.”
