Man Found Dead After 'Explosion' in Durham Street
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Early Saturday morning, emergency crews were called to Durham Street following a distressing call. A deaf man dialled for help, saying he couldn’t wake his friend. He also reported an explosion while he was out shopping.
Tragic Discovery
On returning home, the man found his friend in cardiac arrest. Paramedics, police, and firefighters arrived swiftly but sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation Underway
Police and specialist fire investigators have launched a joint inquiry into the incident. A police spokesperson said: “Police were called to Durham Street at 2.29am. Sadly a man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The death is being treated as unexplained at this time.”
