Drug Dealer Caught with £875k Worth of Cocaine Hidden in Dog Food Bags

John Neilson, 44, was nabbed by Police Scotland and the National Crime Agency at a vehicle repair yard in Bathgate on 22 June 2020. He was caught red-handed with a van loaded with 15 kilos of cocaine cleverly stashed inside dried dog food bags.

Hidden Cocaine Worth Nearly a Million

Officers uncovered the massive haul during a joint operation targeting drug supply. Forensic tests confirmed the cocaine was 65% pure. Once cut, its street value could soar to around £875,000.

More Suspicious Finds at Whitburn Home

A follow-up search of Neilson’s house in Whitburn revealed more opened bags of dried dog food—though no further drugs were found. Police are confident their crackdown will hit organised crime groups hard.

“Working alongside our law enforcement partners, we are determined to disrupt the organised crime groups involved in drug supply and protect the public.”
