Chaos Outside Israeli Embassy as Nine Cops Hurt in Violent Clashes

Police Attack Sparks Disorder at Kensington Protest

Nine police officers were injured as they tried to break up violent crowds outside the Israeli Embassy in Kensington on Saturday evening (15 May). What began as a mostly peaceful protest turned ugly, with missiles thrown in scattered bursts of chaos.

Multiple Arrests in Night of Mayhem

Police arrested nine people on suspicion of violent disorder. Another four were held for breaking Health Protection Regulations. All remain in custody as investigations continue.

Police Chief Condemns Violence

Superintendent Jo Edwards, overseeing the operation, slammed the attacks on officers. “We once again saw police come under attack from missiles, which left several injured. It’s totally unacceptable. I wish those officers a speedy recovery,” she said.

Edwards added the force had tried to keep the protest peaceful by encouraging dispersal to safeguard public health. “Where engagement failed and officers faced hostility, we took enforcement action,” she stated.
