A wheelchair stolen from outside a property on Junction Road has been safely returned to its owner, who depends on it for independent mobility.
Theft Reported to Kent Police
The theft was reported at around 12:50pm on Sunday, April 4, 2021. The victim only discovered the wheelchair was missing after leaving it outside their home.
Suspect Arrested After Swift Investigation
Police traced a suspicious vehicle to an address in Chatham the following evening. Officers tracked down the wheelchair in a nearby garage and arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of theft. He is currently in custody as investigations continue.
