Tragedy struck on Chesham Road on the evening of Wednesday 12 August 2020 when 18-year-old Cole Kershaw was fatally shot in the chest following a wild pursuit between two cars.

A jury at Manchester Crown Court found Kamran Mohammed, Mohammed Izaarh Khan, and Khayam Ali Khurshid—all from Bury—guilty of Cole’s murder. Raheem Hall, from Heywood, pleaded guilty to assisting an offender. All four face sentencing in April 2021.

The court heard the three men were in a silver BMW chasing a Ford Mondeo carrying Cole and four others. During the chase, three shots were fired. The third bullet struck Cole just before 9.30pm. He was rushed to hospital but tragically died later that night.
