Man Found Stabbed in Reservoir Near Penzance
Police were called to Drift Service Reservoir near Penzance at 4pm on Thursday 18 February after reports of a body in the water. Emergency teams recovered the man, later named as 37-year-old Edward Hinds.
Suspected Stab Wound Found on Victim
Officers and paramedics attempted CPR but discovered Mr Hinds had suffered a suspected stab wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation Underway – Police Seek Witnesses
Originally from the Midlands, Edward had recently moved to the Lelant area. Detective Inspector Steve Hambly of the Major Crime Investigation Team urged anyone who knows Edward or saw anything unusual between Monday 15 and Thursday 18 February near Drift Service Reservoir or Lelant to come forward.
“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who believes they know Edward or may have had contact with him since he moved to Lelant,” said DI Hambly. “Please contact police on 101 quoting log 686 18 February 2021.”
Man Held on Suspicion of Murder
A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
