Woman Arrested Over Baby’s Death in Wembley

Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of murder following the tragic death of a baby in Wembley. Officers were called to a Preston Road address at around 9.51am on Wednesday, 22 July after reports of an injured infant.

Baby Pronounced Dead at Scene

Emergency services, including officers and London Ambulance, rushed to the scene. The infant, believed to be under one year old, was sadly pronounced dead at the property.

Specially trained officers are supporting the next of kin during this distressing time. The arrested woman remains in police custody as investigations continue.

Police Not Searching for Anyone Else

Authorities say all parties involved were known to each other. At this early stage, police are not seeking any further suspects linked to the incident.

North West Commander Roy Smith said: “This is a tragic incident and my thoughts are with all those affected including the family and our first responders who rushed to the scene.

“While this death will deeply affect the local community, please be reassured that we are doing everything we can to investigate. At this stage, we are not looking for any other individuals in connection with the death.”
