Dartford Drug Dealer Busted with Heroin, Crack & Cannabis – Jailed!
Dealer Caught in the Act
A 23-year-old drug dealer was sentenced to two years and four months after Kent Police caught him red-handed with heroin, crack cocaine, and cannabis. Shakil Choudhury, from Ilford, was stopped in Dartford after being spotted selling a class A drug in a car park.
Police Followed the Trail
Officers first took notice of Choudhury on 7 January 2019, when a known drug user was seen talking to him in a white Audi parked in Overy Street. The Audi sped off as a foot patrol approached, but police recorded its details. They also stopped the drug user and found four wraps of crack cocaine—just bought from Choudhury inside the car.
The next day, officers caught the same Audi on Princes Road. Stopped and searched, Choudhury was found with cannabis. He was taken to North Kent Police Station for a further search. During this, two packages dropped to the floor, later confirmed as heroin, crack cocaine, and cannabis.
Zero Tolerance to Dealers
“Choudhury made a conscious decision to supply class A substances, knowing full well that he was exploiting people with drug abuse issues as a means to make money,” said Police Constable Rebecca Kemp.
She added: “We take zero tolerance to people who visit our towns to supply such substances. Our officers are actively looking for signs of drug dealing and making sure offenders face justice.”
Choudhury pleaded guilty to possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply, plus possession of cannabis. His sentence was handed down at Maidstone Crown Court on 14 July 2020.
