Sussex Police has spoken out following media reports about compensation paid to a couple arrested during their probe into the 2018 Gatwick drone attacks.

The police investigation targeted illegal drone incursions that brought Gatwick Airport to a standstill in December 2018. Authorities swiftly deployed both military and private technology to end the disruption and reopen the airport.
“Equipment was quickly installed using both military and private assets to bring it to a conclusion and allow the airport to reopen,” Sussex Police confirmed. “These measures have since enhanced our ability to tackle similar threats in the future.”
