Tragedy at Beckenham Junction as Person Fatally Hit by Train
A person has died after being struck by a train at Beckenham Junction just before 5pm today. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but sadly, the casualty was pronounced dead at the spot.
Rail Chaos as Services Disrupted
Police and paramedics were called immediately following reports of the incident on the tracks. Southern Eastern confirmed train services in and out of Beckenham Junction faced severe delays and some diversions while emergency teams worked.
A spokesperson for Southern Eastern said: “Trains are currently disrupted and may be delayed or diverted. Response staff have made the train safe to move out of the station and we hope the line will be fully open soon.”
Police Investigating, No Suspicion
Officers from British Transport Police are working swiftly to identify the victim and notify their family. A police spokesperson said:
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Services Back to Normal
Rail services have since resumed at the junction, but the tragic event has left a heavy impact on the local community and commuters alike.
