Gun Violence Rocks Barking: Man Critical After Shooting
Detectives are urgently seeking witnesses after a shocking shooting in Barking left a 24-year-old man fighting for his life.
Shootout in Wilmington Gardens
Police rushed to Wilmington Gardens at around 2.15pm on Thursday, 4 June, following reports of gunshots. Armed officers teamed up with London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance to respond to the scene.
Two Men Injured, One Critical
- A 24-year-old male suffered gunshot wounds and is currently in critical condition in hospital. His family has been informed.
- The second victim, who did not sustain gunshot injuries, was also hospitalised but his condition is not life-threatening.
Trident Detectives Launch Probe
The Specialist Crime Command’s Trident team is leading the investigation. They want to hear from anyone who was near Wilmington Gardens at the time but has yet to come forward.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of affray the same day but has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
