A man had a terrifying escape on Long Lane, Stanwell, after a black Mercedes suddenly burst into flames this afternoon. The unnamed man was carrying out maintenance on the vehicle when it suddenly erupted, engulfing both car and man in flames.
Burn Injuries as Fire Crews Rush to Scene
Wearing black, the man managed to get away but suffered burns to his arms and face. Fire crews from Surrey and paramedics from one ambulance service rushed to the scene shortly after 6pm on Saturday.
Swift Emergency Response Saves the Day
Thanks to rapid action from emergency services, a potentially fatal situation was brought under control quickly. The victim was treated onsite before being taken to hospital.
