Government Urges Staying Home to Save Lives – But Daily Exercise Is Allowed
Stay Safe, Stay Local
The government’s top priority is saving lives. The best way to protect yourself and others from illness is to stay at home. But they recognise exercise is crucial for both physical and mental health, so they’ve allowed people to leave the house for exercise once a day.
Stick to these strict rules to keep safe:
- Stay local and use spaces near your home – no unnecessary travel.
- Only go outside alone or with household members.
- Keep at least 2 metres apart from anyone not in your household.
- Gatherings of more than two in parks or public spaces are banned.
- Police will enforce these rules.
Garden Gym and Hygiene Rules
- If you have a garden, use it for exercise and fresh air.
- Practice good hygiene outdoors – wash hands immediately when back inside.
- If walking your dog, keep them on a lead to maintain safe distance from others.
