Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Stabbing in Walthamstow
A 31-year-old man has been charged with murder following a deadly stabbing in Walthamstow. Rizwan Abassi, from Alexandra Road, E17, faces murder charges over the death of 35-year-old Tomas Macionis.
Fury as Man Killed on Alexandra Road
The brutal attack happened late on Tuesday, 31 March, when police were called at around 10.55pm to reports of a man suffering serious injuries. Tomas Macionis, a Lithuanian national who lived locally, was stabbed and died at the scene.
Justice Moves Fast
Abassi was charged on Thursday, 2 April, and will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court the same day. The Met’s Specialist Crime Command homicide detectives are leading the investigation.
