Heart-Stopping Drama in Eastleigh as Air Ambulance Scrambles to Cardiac Arrest
Emergency services rushed to Monks Way, Eastleigh, yesterday afternoon after a man in his 20s suffered a cardiac arrest. Specialist Ambulance HART (Hazardous Area Response Team) and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance were quickly called in to the scene.
Massive Response: Five Ambulances and Air Support Deployed
South Central Ambulance crews arrived just after 2:30pm, rapidly requesting backup. In total, five ambulances plus the Air Ambulance were on site. Two ambulances worked in rotation to carry out CPR and patient assessment. Meanwhile, three HART vehicles, specially equipped for tough conditions, handled hazardous access and patient movement in tricky areas like narrow staircases.

The Air Ambulance team, carrying advanced medical gear and doctors, provided top-level care to stabilise the patient before any hospital transfer. A technician said, “Patients must be stabilised before transferring to hospitals.” The priority was to deliver lifesaving treatment on site — moving the patient too fast could reduce survival chances.
