Police Officer Seriously Injured Outside Southampton Bar
A police officer was brutally assaulted outside Yates bar on Above Bar Street, Southampton, in the early hours of June 23. The 54-year-old officer suffered serious facial injuries and is currently in Southampton General Hospital.
Night Out Turns Violent
Officers were called just after midnight to a public order incident involving several people at the popular bar. One of the first officers on the scene was attacked outside, prompting a police investigation.
Four Men Arrested, Police Seek Witnesses
- Four men, aged 22, 26, 27, and 32, have been arrested and remain in custody.
- Detective Inspector Emma Crute urged anyone who witnessed the attack to come forward, especially if they took photos or videos on their phones.
- She said: “If you were in or around Yates at midnight and captured anything on your phone, it could be vital to our enquiry.”
