M3 Southbound Slammed Shut After Single-Car Smash at Junction 1
Chaos on the M3 this morning as Surrey Roads Policing and Highways England shut down the southbound carriageway at Junction 1, where the A316 ends and the motorway begins. Emergency crews are tackling a single-vehicle crash that’s left a car blocking multiple lanes.
Major Delays and Diversions in Place
Drivers are stuck in around two miles of slow-moving traffic between Junction 1 and Junction 2. A diversion route is live — motorists are urged to follow black diamond signs directing traffic off at Sunbury Cross, along the A308 to Staines, and onto the M25.
