A 49-year-old crook from Croydon has finally been locked up after a string of burglaries across Gosport. Paul Anderson ransacked homes and businesses, making off with jewellery, clothes, and goods from multiple locations.
Burglar Strikes Multiple Homes and Businesses
Between late September and October, Anderson targeted several addresses in Gosport:
- Jewellery stolen from a flat on the Anchorage (Sept 26–27)
- Clothing taken from a house on Peel Road (Oct 24)
- More jewellery pinched from a house on Monckton Road (Oct 29)
He was also linked to burglaries at:
- Dimensions hairdressers, North Cross Street (Oct 1)
- Fox and Sons estate agents, Gosport High Street (Oct 14)
- Homes on Molesworth Road, Rectory Close, Green Road, Grove Avenue, Elson Lane, St Thomas’ Road, Blake Road
- Theft from a boat at Gosport Marina (Aug 19)
Caught on Camera and Sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court
Police Staff Investigator Catherine Cole revealed that CCTV helped nail Anderson, who was arrested on October 29. He admitted to three Gosport burglaries and three more in London.
“Anderson was arrested following various enquiries, and CCTV footage was crucial in securing charges. This sentence reflects the seriousness of his offending. We hope it provides some resolution for all of his victims,” said Cole.
