Scum bag steals from ambulance on Christmas Day in Portsmouth

At approximately 5.40 on Christmas Day, whilst an ambulance crews was assisting a patient into their ambulance, a male wearing a balaclava stole their Ambulance Response Bag. He made off on a bicycle on Wingfield Street, Portsmouth. The bag (pictured) is carried on every frontline ambulance vehicle and is used at every incident that we attend. It contains lifesaving equipment that is essential for our day-to-day operations. Due to this theft, the vehicle was temporarily unavailable until replacement equipment was sourced. Fortunately the patient and the crew were not harmed. Any theft of essential equipment takes our vehicle and staff off the road and potentially puts lives at risk. If you have any information relating to this theft or the recovery of this essential equipment, please call us on 01962 898000 or call Hampshire Constabulary on 101.
