Massive Blaze Erupts at Potters Heron Hotel in Romsey
Some 200 firefighters and 32 fire engines are battling a huge blaze at the Potters Heron Hotel in Romsey tonight (Monday 19th March 2018). The fire, which tore through the building’s thatched roof, has drawn crews from Hampshire, Berkshire, and Dorset.
Road Closures and Safety Warnings in Place
Police have shut the A3090 in both directions, urging the public to stay clear of the area. The fire is believed to have started in the snow-covered thatch roof and shows no sign of slowing.

Firefighters expect to remain on the scene well into Tuesday morning as they conduct a major salvage operation inside the hotel. This is reportedly the biggest fire Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service has ever confronted.
