Road Rage Madness in Southampton: Driver Screams ‘I Want You Dead’ After Shocking Motorway Clash

A Southampton family’s motorway trip turned into a terrifying road rage nightmare after a furious driver rammed their car and unleashed a vile, foul-mouthed tirade. The incident, caught on camera, shows the attacker spewing threats and insults while confronting the family – who had an 11-year-old boy in the car at the time.

Raging Driver Rams Family’s Car Near M27

Victoria Baumont and her husband Simon Gale were shocked when a man driving a Peugeot flashed his lights aggressively after Victoria struggled to slot their car into a gap joining the motorway near Eastleigh Airport. The situation escalated quickly when the Peugeot rammed their vehicle, forcing all involved to pull off at a Sainsbury’s car park close to the M27 in Southampton.

Victoria recalls the man’s chilling words: “I want you dead.” The aggressive driver also hurled insults, calling Victoria an “old s**t” in a vile rant. He showed no respect for their 11-year-old grandson who was also in the car during the terrifying episode.

‘Citizen’s Arrest’ Claim and Furious Rant

In a bizarre twist, the man – believed to be Fergus Beeley, a BBC film director known for David Attenborough’s natural history programmes – attempted to place the family under a so-called “citizen’s arrest” while waiting for police to arrive.

Victoria said she initially thought he was an undercover cop after he flashed his Peugeot’s lights. The argument turned heated with the driver shouting: “You deserve it, you old s**t” and “Get ready to die.” As she confronted him, Victoria filmed the heated clash, shouting: “You said you were a police officer. When the police arrive I will ask them what rank you are.” He shot back: “I wouldn’t say that to a bunch of w*****s like you.”

Police Respond, No Charges Pressed

The Hampshire Police confirmed they were called to a non-injury collision on the M27 between junctions 5 and 7 at 11:30 am on July 22. The crash involved a Mazda 3, a Peugeot 107 and a Skoda Octavia.

All parties met at the nearby Sainsbury’s car park in Hedge End. Both a 32-year-old man from Southampton and a 54-year-old from Gloucestershire made allegations of common assault.

However, neither side wished to pursue a formal complaint, and no charges were filed.

This shocking motorway showdown serves as a stark reminder: tempers can boil over fast on UK roads – with terrifying consequences.
